Description:

The name Dinara is related to the Dinara mountain (massif), the Dinara group and the top of the Dinara.
It became a symbol of the longest mountain range in this part of Europe and gave it the name of the Dinaric Alps, which stretch from Slovenia, through Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and end in Albania.

The goal of our ascent is the top of Velika Duvjakus, the highest peak of Troglav on Croatian territory. It is located on the lower ridge that runs parallel to the main ridge of Troglav and is easily visible from the top of Troglav. There is a monument on the lookout that pays homage to Croatian defenders, and below is a mountain hut.

The tour starts from Sinj, and the beginning of hiking is in a village about 30 kilometers away from Sinj. Markings begin immediately after turning off the asphalt road.
The hiking trail follows a macadam road, and after almost 4 km you come to a point where you start climbing a good hiking trail. Fresh air and picturesque nature heal the soul as the ascent leads us further along a well-marked hiking trail that occasionally leads to a clearing from which beautiful views open up.
The trail offers a view of Velika Duvjakuša covered with spruce, which stands out from the rest of the grassy plateau and the surrounding peaks.
In general it can be said that this climb is one of the more pleasant. Although it has a relatively large height difference, it is not strenuous and too heavy, so it remains in the mountaineers' memory in a very good and beautiful memory.
