Tour description:

 

Visoka (892 m) is a mountain that rises above Sinj. At the top of Visoka there is a concrete cross ten meters high. This place is a place of pilgrimage for many residents of the entire Cetina region. We will enjoy the beautiful views of Sinj, the valley of Sinjsko polje, the surrounding mountains (Kamešnica, Dinara, Svilaja, Biokovo, Mosor) and further to the Adriatic Sea and islands.

This tour starts in Sinj, and the starting point of the hiking tour to the Visoka mountain is 2 km away from Sinj. From there we will follow the marked trail along the water tank and then go up a steep climb for approximately 35 minutes (1.5 kilometers), followed by a slightly less steep section leading to the meadow below the peak (25 minutes). The last climbing part of the trail will take us to the cross at the top (5 minutes). From the top we continue west along the karst path, through bushes, gentle ruins and low forests leading to the highest peak of Visoka (2 hours). From there, the trail continues steeply downhill until we reach the canyon of the Sutina stream (35 minutes). The geomorphological structure of the Sutina canyon is made of limestone and dolomite, while the abundance of fossils is revealed to visitors due to the effects of erosion. In accordance with the Nature Protection Act, a significant landscape of Sutina is under the leadership of the Public Institution for the Management of Protected Natural Values ​​of the Split-Dalmatia County. Through this part we will enjoy the shade of a pine forest and reach the town of Sinj where we end our adventure.
