It is located in central Dalmatia, partly on the mainland and partly on the island of Ciovo. It is an important tourist center in the Adriatic. Since 1997, the old part of the city is on the UNESCO World Heritage list. The town of Trogir was founded by Greek colonists from the island of Vis in III. St. Christ. In Central Europe it was considered the best preserved Romanesque-Gothic city. The castle and tower surrounded by walls form the core of Trogir. The most important cultural monument is the Trogir cathedral, whose portal of the western door was made by Master Radovan.
The town of Trogir is situated on the coast of the Kaštela Bay, on the island of Trogir between Čiovo and the mainland, connected by stone bridge to the mainland. Trogir delights visitors to cultural and historical monuments and small streets as well as art collections with many great works. Entering sacral objects reveals some lesser and more famous details of history. Trogir is one of the cities that is best to visit with the expert guide of the tourist guide, outside the main season and tourist crowds.
