Sinj is a town in Croatia, in Split-Dalmatia County about 35km away from Split. It is located in the northern part of the Dalmatian Zagore. The city lies on the northwestern edge of the Sinj field, in the valley of the river Cetina. It is the main settlement of the Cetina Krajina, known for its knightly game "Sinjska alka" and a pilgrimage site to the miraculous Gospa Sinjska which, according to belief, saved the city from the Turks. Sinj is a beautiful city full of interesting, preserved nature and hospitable hosts. Nearby are Peručko Lake, St.Jakov mountain lodge, towns of Hrvace and Trilj as well as numerous family farms.
